Kia Sportage Interior
As an SUV, you can expect the Kia Sportage interior to be plenty spacious. In fact, it has enough seats for five passengers, with approximately 39 inches of headroom in both the first and second rows.
Even with all five seats occupied, the Sportage offers 30.7 cubic feet of trunk space. Need even more room? Fold down the rear seats to access all 60.1 cubic feet of cargo space.
While you’re on the go, you can enjoy audio streamed from your smartphone via Bluetooth® wireless technology hands-free connectivity. You can also view audio and incoming call information via the standard 5-inch or available 7-inch full-color touchscreen.
Kia Sportage Configurations
The Kia Sportage offers three different configurations for you to choose from to suit your needs. These trim levels are:
- SX Turbo
The LX and EX come standard with an I-4 engine, while the SX Turbo turns up the heat with a turbocharged powertrain. Additionally, the SX Turbo includes several smart safety features, including Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection. These cutting-edge safety features are available on the EX trim level, as well.
The configurations also deliver in terms of design, with cloth seats standard on the LX and leather seats standard on the EX and above.
Kia Sportage Towing Capacity
The Kia Sportage has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds when properly equipped. This is enough to take a jet ski to the gulf or head out to camp with a small trailer. To maximize on your towing capacity, we recommend opting for the available Dynamax™ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
This AWD system automatically redistributes torque as necessary between all four wheels to improve traction control to suit your needs.
To further improve towing capabilities, all Kia Sportage models include Electronic Stability Control, which helps maintain directional stability, especially on winding roadways.
Kia Sportage Specs: Performance
The Kia Sportage comes standard with a 2.4L I-4 engine that delivers 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. If you need even more, you can upgrade to the SX Turbo trim level, which comes with a 2.0L turbo I-4 engine. This sporty engine generates up to 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic®. This transmission provides the smooth-shifting action of an automatic transmission while still giving you the option to operate in a limited manual mode when you desire more control.
All configurations also feature the Drive Mode Select system, which allows you to further optimize performance by operating in your choice of three different modes: Normal, Eco, or Sport.
