Kia Forte Gas Mileage
What stood out to us about the 2019 Kia Forte is the gas mileage. Based on your powertrain options, you can achieve an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 31 MPG city and 40 MPG highway with this sedan, making it ideal for drivers with long daily commutes.1
It does this with a standard 2.0L I-4 engine that generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. You can pair the engine with a 6-speed manual transmission and get an EPA-estimated gas mileage of 27 MPG city and 37 MPG highway.1
To truly optimize your fuel usage, however, we recommend the Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) that reaches an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 30-31 MPG city and 40-41 MPG highway.1 It achieves this level of efficiency by doing away with the designated gears of a traditional automatic transmission.
Instead, the IVT provides nearly infinite transitions between its lowest and highest points to optimize performance and efficiency.
2019 Kia Forte Infotainment Review
As you settle into the driver’s seat of the Kia Forte, you’ll have many ways to stay connected and entertained while on-the-go, especially since Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ connectivity come standard.
These features allow you to fully integrate your smartphone with your car and display optimized apps on the standard 8-inch floating touchscreen display. Compatible apps include internet radio, audio streaming, phone calls, text messages, and even navigation.
If you prefer, the Forte offers its own available navigation system with a voice command feature that allows you to input destinations without ever taking your hands off the wheel.
Standard Driver-Assist Features in the Forte
The Kia Forte makes several driver-assist features standard that help you stay aware of your surroundings while out and about. These features are:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Forward Collision Warning—Avoidance Assist
- Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Driver Attention Warning
These systems all work together to alert you to potential hazards on the road. For example, Forward Collision Warning—Avoidance Assist notifies you of an impending collision with slower-moving traffic ahead of you. If necessary, it will also hit the brakes for you to try to avoid an impact.
The Driver Attention Warning system is a nice touch, as well. This system monitors your driving patterns. If anything seems out-of-the-ordinary or erratic, it’ll provide a warning indicating that you may be too drowsy or distracted to drive.
This way, you know when to take a break from behind the wheel, especially if you’re on a long road trip.
