2019 Kia Cadenza Engine Specs
At the heart of any vehicle is the engine, and this sedan has a strong one. It’s a 3.3L V6 engine that generates 290 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque.
It’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, Sportmatic®, and Smart Shift & Drive. What does all this mean? We’ll start with overdrive. Overdrive adds additional gears near the upper limit, so your engine doesn’t have to work as hard during highway driving and can use less fuel. This technology helps the Cadenza reach an EPA-estimated 20 city/27 highway MPG.1
Sportmatic® is a limited manual mode that allows you to shift on command when you desire more control over your driving dynamics. Smart Shift & Drive is an innovative feature that senses roadway conditions and automatically selects the right driving mode to enhance your performance.
Kia Cadenza Interior
Inside the Kia Cadenza, you’ll find enough seats for you and four of your closest friends. The interior dimensions are as follows:
- Headroom (front/rear): 40.2 inches/37.9 inches
- Legroom (front/rear): 45.5 inches/37.2 inches
In addition to the 107.8 cubic feet of passenger space, you’ll also have 16 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. If you need more room, fold down the 60/40-split rear seat to extend the trunk into the cabin.
During your road trip, you can stream music directly through your smartphone via Bluetooth® connectivity. Or, if you want to fully integrate your favorite smartphone apps with your 7- or available 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, you can use Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay™.
These features let you access your phone’s calling, texting, music streaming, and navigation features directly through your touchscreen display.
Safety Technology and the 2019 Cadenza
If safety is a top concern of yours, you’ll be happy to hear that the Kia Cadenza takes it seriously, too. This Kia sedan offers several safety features you can use to be more aware of your surroundings. The available systems include:
- Smart Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Lane Departure Warning System
- Autonomous Emergency Braking
- Forward Collision Warning System
One of our favorite features for local drivers is the available Smart Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist. This system issues an alert via a light on your side-view mirror when another car enters your side blind spots. If you activate your turn signal when the coast is clear to change lanes, the Lane Change Assist feature will notify you if vehicle in your intended lane is approaching too quickly to allow you to merge safely.
Another feature we like is the available auto rain-sensing wipers. These wipers let you focus more of your attention on navigating during inclement weather by automatically turning on and adjusting your wiper speed based on the rate of precipitation on the windshield.
